Final Fantasy XV Gets 5-Episode Anime Prequel, Feature-Length CG Film (Updated)

Square Enix announced during its "Uncovered: Final Fantasy XV" event on Wednesday that it will stream a five-episode anime prequel as well as a feature-length 3D CG film for the Final Fantasy XV game. The anime prequel is titled Brotherhood: Final Fantasy XV, while the 3D CG film is titledKingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV.
Brotherhood: Final Fantasy XV will be a prequel to the game, following the adventures of Noctis, Gladios, Ignis, and Prompto. Square Enix said the first episode is available now, and all five episodes will be available before the full game is released.
Update: The first episode with English subtitles is available now. The episode reveals that A-1 Pictures is producing the animation, and Soichi Masui (Chaika the Coffin Princess , Scrapped Princess) is directing.
The story of Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV takes place during the game, and follows what happens to King Regis after Noctis leaves on his trip with his friends. The film will star Aaron Paul as a new character and protagonist called Nyx, a Glaive and member of the elite task force known as the Kingsglaive. Lena Headey will also star as Lunafreya, and Sean Bean as King Regis.
Square Enix will release Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV before the game's release, and it will be available for streaming and download. The event also confirmed that the same team who worked on Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children worked on the Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV film.
