The play, titled Karneval Hajimari no Rinbukyoku (Karneval The Rondo of the Beginning), will run for 12 performances between May 20-29 at the Owl Spot theater in Tokyo. Each performance will also have an after event. General seating costs 7,000 yen (about US$63) and special S seats cost 8,500 yen (US$76).

Mikanagi launched the fantasy action series in the Monthly Comic Zero-Sum magazine in 2008, and Ichijinsha will publish the 17th volume on April 25.

The series inspired a television anime in 2013, and Funimation released the complete series on Blu-ray Disc and DVD in North America in June 2014. Funimation describes the story:

Armed with only an abandoned bracelet as a clue, Nai searches for someone dear to him. After a run in with a pick-pocket named Gareki, the two find themselves involved in a government set-up that leaves them wanted criminals. Desperate and on-the-run, Nai and Gareki turn to the country's most powerful defense organization – "Circus" – for help.

Yen Press is publishing the manga in English, and it will release the fourth compiled volume on March 22.
