The official Tokyo shop of the long-running “One Piece” pirate manga and anime series has reopened on the seventh floor of the Shibuya Marui department store.
The One Piece Mugiwara Store had previously operated in the nearby Shibuya Parco department store until it was closed for rebuilding.
More than 10,000 items of “One Piece” goods, including limited-edition and newly released merchandise, are available at the relocated store in Shibuya Ward.
The Mugiwara Store, which opened April 21, is running a special “We Are! We Go! Fair.” Customers who spend at least 1,000 yen ($9) can receive one of five banana-shaped bookmarks featuring illustrations of the straw hat (mugiwara)-wearing pirate Luffy and his gang.
The Mugiwara Store also operates in Abeno Q’s Mall in Osaka and Fukuoka Parco in Fukuoka.
Running in Shueisha Inc.’s Weekly Shonen Jump manga anthology since 1997, “One Piece,” by artist Eiichiro Oda, has won a wide, cross-generational fan base in Japan.
“One Piece Film Gold,” the first animated feature film adaptation in three-and-a-half years, will hit cinemas nationwide on July 23.
