Fairy Tail Laxus Dreyar Spinoff Manga Launches
The franchise has launched the Fairy Tail Laxus Dreyar spinoff manga for Kodansha’s “Magazine Pocket” app. The first chapter of the manga has been released last Wednesday, May 4, 2016.
This news came out first via Anime News Network stating that the Ky?ta Shibano’s Fairy Tail spinoff manga focuses on the life of Laxus Dreyar. The official title of the spinoff manga series is “Fairy Tail Gaiden: Raig? Issen.”
It is noted that Laxus Dreyar is one of the main characters of Hiro Mashima’s Fairy Tail manga. Laxus (as you may know) is part of the Fairy Tail Guild. He is the son of Ivan Dreyar (Raven Tail’s Master) whose father is also Makarov Dreyar (Master of the Fairy Tail Guild). Laxus is an S-Class Mage and he possesses these powers: Lightning Magic, Lightning Dragon Slayer Magic, Thought Projection, Organic Link Magic, Fairy Law, and Letter Magic (Jutsu Shiki).
ANN says this is not the first time Ky?ta Shibano published a spinoff manga in Kodansha’s “Magazine Pocket” app. There are two Fairy Tail spinoff series that have been released when Kodansha launched its pocket mag app. According to the report, Shibano released his Fairy Tail spinoff manga debut in July. The first manga launched in Kodansha’s “Magazine Pocket” app is titled Fairy Tail Spinoff: Twin Dragons of Sabertooth (Fairy Tail Gaiden: Kengami no S?ry?).
Then, the second Fairy Tail spinoff manga released in “magazine pocket” was the Fairy Tail Gaiden: Rhodonite. The first chapter came out in November 2015, and then the last chapter ended in March 2016. The story of this manga revolved around the life of Gajeel Redfox.
For sure a compiled volume of the Fairy Tail Gaiden: Rhodonite will soon be released since Kodansha had compiled the first spinoff series and released the compiled volume in Japan last January 2016. According to the news, the English compiled volume will be released this fall 2016.
