There have been so many rounds of Attack On Titan season two rumors that it's easy to forget that a follow-up anime was actually, officially announced for 2016. Yūki Kaji (Eren), Yui Ishikawa (Mikasa), Marina Inoue (Armin), and director Tetsuro Araki revealed as much back in November 2014 during the opening of the first compilation movie.
Spanish home video and streaming distributor SelectaVisión, who hasn't been shy about making comments or listings in the past, is now saying that the 2016 time-frame from the new anime isn't happening. According to a Mission Tokyo interview and Facebook comment, Kodansha (series manga publisher and anime production committee member) has indicated that the series will not be debuting this year. SelectaVisión has their eyes on 2017 and hopes on January's winter season.
