"Kimi wa Pet" Josei Manga Receives New TV Drama Adaptation

Kimi wa Pet, a romance / comedy josei manga series by Yayoi Ogawa that originally ran in Kodansha's Kiss magazine from 2000 until 2005, is receiving a new adaptation as a 16 episode, late-night TV drama that will air on Fuji TV.

The series, which features a career-minded lady journalist adopting a homeless former ballet dancer as a "pet", will star Noriko Iriyama as Sumire Iwaya, the journalist, and Jun Shison as "Momo", her pet.

Kimi wa Pet has already been adapted into a live-action format on 2 previous occassions: as a 10 episode TV drama on TBS (Tokyo Broadcasting System) in 2003, and as a South Korean theatrical film in 2011. An English language version of the Kimi wa Pet manga was released under the title Tramps Like Us by Tokyopop, but this version is now out-of-print.
