Sega Co-Develops Film Based on Shinobi Game

Marc Platt, Adam Siegel partner with Stories International to produce film based on ninja video game franchise

The entertainment news website Deadline reported on Friday that Segawill co-develop a film based on its Shinobi video game franchise.
Marc Platt and Adam Siegel will produce the film with Stories International, a joint business between Sega and advertising agency Hakuhodo DY Group. Stories International President and CEO Tomoya Suzuki will co-produce the project, and Head of Development and Production Evan Cholfin will serve as its development executive.
Sega hired Cholfin, a former executive at Break Media, in December 2014 to create film, television, and digital entertainment projects based on Sega's various video game properties. In addition to Shinobi, Stories plans to adapt Crazy TaxiRise of NightmaresStreets of RageAltered BeastVirtua Fighter, and Golden Axe into English-language live-action and animated projects.
The Shinobi series debuted in 1987 as an arcade game, and has since spawned a dozen games. Shinobi 3D(known outside of Japan as simply Shinobi) shipped on the Nintendo 3DS in 2011.
