Elex Media Licenses Shinta Fujimoto's Red Raven Manga

1st volume of supernatural action manga slated for May 18

Indonesian publisher Elex Media Komputindo revealed on Thursday that it has licensed Shinta Fujimoto's Red Raven supernatural fantasy manga. The company will release the manga's first volume on May 18.

Red Raven is set in an unstable world ruled by a weak government, where the mafia holds the real power. To combat the mafia, the government establishes Red Raven, an organization formed to combat and eventually destroy the mafia using special agents known as Executors, who come armed with powerful weapons called "Executioner Tools." The story focuses on Andy, an Executor who was brought up as the living weapon of the Scaggs mafia family, and now lives for taking her vengeance against them. Another Executor named Walter often works together with Andy when fighting the mafia.
Fujimoto launched the manga in Square Enix's Shonen Gangan magazine in 2010, and ended it in 2013. Square Enix published nine compiled book volumes for the series. Fujimoto recently launched a new manga adaptation of Ryohgo Narita's Baccano! light novel series in Square Enix's Young Gangan magazine last October. Square Enix published the manga's first compiled book volume on February 10.
