Tokyopop published part of original manga in English
The June issue of Kodansha's Monthly Afternoon magazine revealed on Monday that Keiko Suenobu (Limit) is launching a sequel to her Life manga. The Life 2: Giver Taker manga will launch in Monthly Afternoon's August issue on June 25.
The issue also revealed that the original manga has more than 10 million copies in print. Kodansha is releasing a new 13-volume edition of the manga starting on June 23, and it will publish two volumes every month.
The original manga revolved around a female middle school student named Ayumu. Ayumu's friend Shii helps her with her high school entrance exams, but Ayumu is devastated when she gets higher scores than Shii and gets into her high school of choice while Shii doesn't. Ayumu starts cutting her wrists as a result of not being able to go to the same high school as Shii, but eventually meets a new friend in high school named Minami. Minami, however, may not be the friend Ayumu really needs.
