Due to Yoshihiro Togashi's health problems, his highly popular manga series "Hunter X Hunter" has entered two years of hiatus. However, this year will see the continuation of Gon's adventures through published materials as the Volume 33 of the series is going to be released in Japan on June 3.
The Anime News Network reported that the latest issue of the Japanese weekly Shonen Jump magazine earlier this week has revealed that the Volume 33 of the "Hunter X Hunter" manga chapters is slated for release less than two months from now. The Volume 32 of the manga was shipped by the Japanese book and video game publisher, Shueisha, in December 2012. In April 2014, the same material was released by Viz Media, the largest anime and manga series publisher and distributor in North America.
The said weekly Shonen Jump magazine issue last April 18 also marked the return of the "Hunter X Hunter" manga serialization, according to Crunchyroll. The weekly anthology magazine has continued the printing of the popular manga's chapters which picked up right where the previous issue left, which is the continuation of the Dark Continent arc. These developments are indicating that Togashi is finally able to work on his highly successful creation once again, and if there will not be any more problems regarding his health, the fans can expect more from the "Hunter X Hunter" series in the coming months.
It was first reported that Togashi would be taking a short break from creating the succeeding chapters of "Hunter X Hunter," but what the fans expected to be weeks or months' worth of break has become two years of inactivity. Togashi has complained about the pain in his lower back, and this back ache lead to a long period of uncertainty about his physical condition and the status of his on-going project. Yibadanoted that the fans of the manga series had almost believed at one point that "Hunter X Hunter" is already defunct and they could not expect more issues coming out in the future. Even the books and magazines stores in Japan had decided at one point to put all their remaining "Hunter X Hunter" volumes on a packaged sale for only $59.
While the fans in Japan are rejoicing that the new volume will launched in no more than 2 months, those followers living in the United States and other portions of the world will have to wait for confirmed reports regarding the upcoming manga volume's international shipping.
