Crossbone Gundam sequel set further in Universal Century timeline than Victory Gundam
The June issue of Kadokawa's Gundam Ace magazine revealed on Tuesday that Yuichi Hasegawa will launch Shin Crossbone GundamDust, a new sequel to the Mobile Suit Crossbone Gundam manga series, in the magazine's September issue on July 26. The manga is set in a previously undepicted timeframe of UC 0168 — even further into the Universal Century timeline than Mobile Suit Victory Gundam's UC 0153 setting.
Hasegawa just ended his Mobile Suit Crossbone Gundam: Ghost in the magazine on March 26. The manga is the latest in a long-running string of sequels to the Mobile Suit Crossbone Gundam manga series. Hasegawa launched the original Mobile Suit Crossbone Gundam manga in the inaugural issue of Kadokawa's Shōnen Ace magazine in 1994, and ended it in 1997. That series served as a direct sequel to the Mobile Suit Gundam F91 anime film.
Hasegawa ran the Mobile Suit Crossbone Gundam: Skull Heart manga short stories in Gundam Ace from 2003 to 2004, followed by the Mobile Suit Crossbone Gundam: Steel Seven manga in Gundam Ace from 2006 to 2007. Hasegawa launched Mobile Suit Crossbone Gundam: Ghost in Gundam Ace in 2012. Kadokawa published the manga's 11th compiled book volume last December.
