Manga Artist Masayuki Ishikawa Goes on Hiatus Due to Health Issues

"I have not been able to see my manga drafts well."41-year-old Japanese manga artist Masayuki Ishikawa announced on his official Twitter yesterday that the serialization of his latest work Madowanai Hoshi on Kodansha's Monthly Morning two magazine will go on hiatus due to his health issues. He is best known for his highly acclaimed Moyashimon and Maria The Virgin Witch series.

  
According to his blog post on March 26, he has been suffering severe dizziness since about two years ago, and his eye strain has gotten the worst recently. He has not been able to see his manga drafts well since around when he worked on Maria the Virgin Witch Exhibition in 2014. He has finally decided to go to undergo a clinical survey this week.
  
The sci-fi manga Madowanai Hoshi has been serialized in the magazine since May 2015, and its first tankobon volume was released on March 23. To promote the release, it was featured on the cover of the
magazine's newest May 2016 issue published simultaneously.
