El Dia's remake for PS Vita, PC ships in Japan on April 28
El Dia began streaming a promotional video on Thursday for its EVE Burst Error R visual novel remake for the the PC and PlayStation Vita. The video highlights the game's main characters.
The game will ship in Japan on April 28. The first-edition limited version of the game will retail for 7,800 yen (about US$69) for both systems, and the download version will retail for 5,800 yen (US$51) for both systems. Additionally, the standard PS Vita edition will retail for 6,800 yen (US$60).
El Dia is developing the game as a "refined" version of C's Ware and Hiroyuki Kanno's original EVE Burst Error PC-98 game, with new character designs by the game's original character designer Nao Tajima. Tajima will draw new event CGs and character portraits for the remake, based on the original portraits with remastered coloring.
EVE Burst Error features two heroes: Marina, a highly capable national intelligence agent, and Kojiroh, a down-on-his-luck detective. Players can switch between perspectives from the two detectives as they work on their respective cases. Players can also use this mechanic to gain different perspectives on the same case.
C's Ware released the original game on the PC-98 platform in 1995. The developer then released subsequent versions with minor revisions on theSega Saturn and the PlayStation 2, as well as two PC versions. MangaGamer released the PC version in English in 2012.
The game's original creator Hiroyuki Kanno passed away in 2011, just months after the game's original composer Ryu Umemoto also passed away.
Sega is publishing a remake of Kanno and Umemoto's Kono Yo no Hate de Koi o Utau Shōjo YU-NO (YU-NO: A girl who chants love at the bound of this world.) science-fiction visual novel. MAGES. and 5pb. are developing the game for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita, and it is slated for release this spring.
