Netflix began streaming the Ajin television anime outside Japan on Tuesday. The anime is available in English, Japanese, French, German, and Spanish audio, and is subtitled in those languages, in addition to Italian.
The television anime and the related anime film series adaptation are based on Gamon Sakurai's Ajin - Demi-Human manga. The TV anime series premiered in Japan on January 15, and Netflix streamed new episodes in Japan three days after their television airing.
The first film, titled Ajin: Shōdō, opened in Japan last November in 30 theaters in Japan for a two-week limited screening, after a screening during the Tokyo International Film Festival in late October. The second film, Ajin: Shōtotsu will open for a three-week limited engagement in Japan from May 6 to 26. The third film, Ajin: Shōgeki(Ajin: Crash), will open in Japan on September 23.
Sakurai launched the manga in Kodansha's good! Afternoon magazine in 2012, and Kodansha published the seventh compiled book volume in Japan last November. The eighth volume will bundle an original anime DVD on May 6. Vertical published the seventh volume in North America on February 23. Crunchyroll is posting new chapters as Kodansha publishes them in Japan.
