New version shipping on July 29 to include scenario improvements, new illustrations, fandisc
Visual novel publisher VisualArt's Key brand revealed the Rewrite+ PC visual novel on Friday with a video.
Key will release the game in Japan on July 29. The new game will include improvements and revisions to the game's scenario, with more sound effects added. The game will also include additional illustrations that weren't in the original game. Additionally, the game will include the "Rewrite Harvest festa!" fandisc. The game retails for 8,800 yen (about US$81) and will include an arrangement CD, a radio show, and a Weiβ Schwarz original promotion card.
Itaru Hinoue (AIR, Kanon, CLANNAD) served as the game's project creator and main illustrator. Romeo Tanaka, Ryukishi07 (Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, Umineko no Naku Koro ni) and Yūto Tonokawa (Little Busters!) wrote the game's storyline scenarios. Jun Maeda (AIR, CLANNAD, Angel Beats!) was involved with the musical compositions and quality control.
The Rewrite Harvest festa! fan disc, written by the game's original team of Tanaka, Ryukishi07, and Tonokawa, featured various additional stories involving the heroines of the original game, and both were illustrated byKey artist Itaru Hinoue. The original game was also ported to the PSP and PS Vita systems in 2014, followed by a PlayStation 3 version in February 2015.
The original game is inspiring a television anime series in July that will feature the same voice cast as the game. The anime will have an original development that is not in the game.
